Riddell finally earned her opportunity at the top level with North Melbourne's introduction into the competition.

With each passing game, the decision by the rest of the competition to not snap her up proved more mystifying, as she evolved into one of the game’s elite ball-winners.

In the Kangaroos’ first premiership season in 2024, she averaged a team-high 29.3 disposals, including 30-plus on eight occasions across the season.

She was named standalone vice-captain ahead of the 2025 season and proceeded to have one of the best individual campaigns in AFLW history.

The midfielder set a new single-game disposal record with 45 in Round 8, claimed the AFLCA Champion Player, AFLW Best and Fairest and Club Champion awards, secured her fifth All-Australian selection and became a two-time premiership player.
