Ben Cunnington, Aaron Hall and Jy Simpkin have been nominated for the AFL Players' MVP. 

The trio have been recognised by their teammates as North's most influential players in 2021, proceeding to stage two in the voting. 

For Hall, it's been a remarkable change of fortunes this season, missing selection in Round 1, then playing barely a few minutes in Round 2 as the medical sub. 

Taking out the Round 5 clash against Geelong, in which he played just 23 per cent of game time before suffering a concussion, he's averaged 30.4 disposals in 2021.

Hall's possession average is double what he achieved in 15 games across 2020. 

The 30-year-old has also amassed an average of over 630 metres gained per game, driving the ball into attack on countless occasions this year. 

Simpkin had another outstanding year, boasting an average of over 5 clearances a game, to go with almost 27 disposals. 

One of the hot favourites for next month's Syd Barker Medal, the North vice-captain had a standout game against Hawthorn in Round 9, racking up 38 touches, to go with 14 clearances and 9 tackles. 

Concussion kept Ben Cunnington sidelined for the first fortnight of the season, but the brilliant midfielder took little time finding his feet upon resuming. 

Across 15 matches, he averaged 26.8 possessions, 7.6 clearances and 5 tackles, playing some of the best football of his career. 

Cunnington missed the last four matches, but it illustrates just how good he is to miss seven games and still be among the Roos nominated for the MVP.

Also nominated for awards are Kayne Turner, who is in the mix for the 'Most Courageous Player' and Tom Powell, for 'Best First Year Player', while Jack Ziebell is in the running as 'Best Captain'.
