Thirteen games in Victoria including six of the last eight rounds await Kangaroos fans, as the club's bumper 2022 fixture was released on Friday.

North Melbourne will play 10 games at Marvel Stadium, seven of them as home games including the Good Friday meeting with the Western Bulldogs, plus two games at the MCG and one at Geelong’s GMHBA Stadium.

The Roos also have four home games at Hobart's Blundstone Arena, beginning with the Anzac Appeal Round clash against Geelong in round six.

Besides the Tasmanian home games, the Kangaroos are facing five interstate trips, including a visit to the Top End to play the Gold Coast Suns in Darwin. The Roos will also travel to play the Adelaide Crows, Sydney Swans, Brisbane Lions and Fremantle.

July will bring a string of blockbusters against traditional rivals, including a home match against Richmond in round 18. The Roos also have an MCG date with Collingwood in round 17, a round 19 home game against Hawthorn in Hobart, and an away match against traditional rivals Essendon at Marvel Stadium in round 20.

Geelong and Hawthorn are among the opponents North will play twice in 2022, along with the Swans, Crows and Suns.

The Kangaroos' season opener against Hawthorn will mark the first time the club has played in front of a crowd at the MCG in almost three years, since round three, 2019.

"We’re thrilled about getting on the big stage on Good Friday and I echo the comments from (Chief Executive) Ben (Amarfio) about wanting our fans to come out in force at that game against last year’s grand finalists," Kangaroos acting chief executive Chris Simmonds said.

"Kicking off the season at the MCG against the Hawks is another big plus and the mix of opponents in Hobart – Geelong , Port Adelaide, Adelaide and Hawthorn – will be fantastic for our Tasmanian supporters.

"We're conscious of the fact our Melbourne fans have been starved from seeing the boys over the past two years so having six of the last eight weeks in Victoria will be a great way to round out the home and away season."

While the 2022 season's early rounds are fully fixtured, the AFL has left the back half of the home-and-away fixture 'floating', with match-ups and venues locked in but timeslots to be confirmed closer to the dates.
