North Melbourne VFLW players Molly Eastman, Sarah Skinner and Liz McGrath will all depart after signing with AFLW expansion clubs.
Eastman, who captained North's VFLW side this campaign, was named as one of Sydney's inaugural signings a number of weeks ago. Earlier today it was announced she'll be joined at the Swans by exciting forward Skinner.
McGrath will also link up with an expansion side, having agreed to join Port Adelaide. VFLW coach Steph Binder says all three players leave with the best wishes of the club.
"Our girls are really big on legacy and leaving the jumper in a better place, and Molly, 'Skin' (Skinner) and Liz have definitely done that," Binder told North Media.
"Molly's been brilliant as our captain and leading from the front this year. What she's contributed will really hold us in good stead going into next season and help keep our culture alive.
"We've known all season that Liz has been the standout VFLW ruck so we're really proud she got this recognition. We were at training when she got the call and I think it was just about the best Wednesday night of all of our lives.
"'Skin' has worked so hard with the goal of getting signed to an AFLW team. To see that happen for her is such a good reward for that effort. She's such a natural forward and when she started to own that position we became able to count on her for one or two goals a game.
"We're so proud of all three of them and genuinely wish them all the best next season."
North's VFLW campaign came to an end last weekend with a loss to the Southern Saints in the final home and away round of the season. They finished seventh to miss out on finals by one ladder position.
