The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have swung two changes ahead of their Indigenous Round clash with the Crows in Adelaide.

Experienced forward Sophie Abbatangelo will feature for the first time since the Season Six knockout qualifying final against Fremantle, while Alice O'Loughlin has also been selected for her first game in Season Seven.

Both Abbatangelo and O'Loughlin have had to deal with bone stress issues but have proven their fitness through training sessions and practice matches over the past few weeks.

In a huge blow, the Roos have lost the versatile Ellie Gavalas to a hamstring strain suffered during training on Thursday night.

Gavalas is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks.

The other change will see young small forward Charli Granville (omitted) also miss out.

Grace Matser, Ella Maurer and Hannah Bowey have been selected as the emergencies.

Granville, Matser, Maurer and Bowey, along with Perri King, Zoe Savarirayan and Dani Hardiman, will all play in a scratch match at 10am on Sunday morning at the AIA Centre.
