Young defender Mitchell Hibberd is setting his sights on 2017 after a minor knee clean-up.

The 19-year-old dislocated his knee-cap twice and steps have now been taken to prevent it from recurring.

“It was an issue for him throughout the year,” North Director of Football Geoff Walsh told NMFC.com.au.

“Even though he was fine and able to train fully, we felt it was best to get him in soon rather than later in order to set him up for an unhindered pre-season campaign.

"The aim of this procedure is to prevent the same injury from happening again.”

Hibberd uploaded a picture to his Instagram account after the successful surgery saying, “Glad to get it done and bring on pre season!”.
