North can confirm Ben Jacobs has refractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
It is the same foot he injured early last season.
The midfielder sustained the break during main training on Friday.
He will now require surgery to minimise the risk of a recurrence and is expected to miss six to eight weeks.
North will keep its members updated during his recovery process.
