Mason Wood is in line to return to football as soon as this weekend despite a recent procedure on his knee.

The young forward has recovered ‘exceptionally well’ following an arthroscope to wash-out a tiny piece of bone in his knee joint according to Senior Performance Consultant Steve Saunders.

“Due credit for this quicker than expected turn-around needs to go to the specialist that performed the procedure on Mason’s knee and also to Mason himself for the attention to detail and diligence he has displayed during his recovery and rehabilitation,” Saunders said.

“He’ll obviously need to get through the remaining training sessions scheduled for this week but the aim is to have him available to play some game time this week.”

Jarrad Waite’s expected time out with an injured AC joint has also dramatically decreased down from four weeks to two.
