The VFL Tribunal has handed Lindsay Thomas a three match suspension.

Thomas pled guilty to careless conduct after a high hit on Demon Corey Maynard in the second quarter of Werribee’s win over Casey Scorpions in the VFL on Sunday.

The three match ban will mean Thomas is eligible to play again in Round 13, following North Melbourne’s AFL bye weekend, given the league-wide VFL bye at the end of May effectively adds a further week on to his suspension.

After the hearing Thomas expressed his contrition over the incident.

“I want to say how remorseful I am for the incident on Sunday with Corey,” Thomas said.

“I’ve reached out to Corey and wished him a speedy recovery.

“I’ve accepted the sanction handed down to me and I’m just focused on training hard and getting back to the senior team after the bye.”
