Matthew Lloyd has singled out Majak Daw as North Melbourne’s biggest highlight of the 2018 season.

Speaking on AFL.com.au’s ‘The Wash-Up’, the former Essendon star was full of praise for Daw and his transformation into a pillar of the Roos’ defensive six.

“He has become one of the best intercept marks in the game,” Lloyd said.

“In the Sydney and Adelaide games towards the end of the season, he was marking everything.

“He has made that spot in defence his own, the ball comes to him and he doesn’t have to make the play, and he was consistently in their (North’s) best players, which is a credit to him.”

Daw played a career-high 18 games in 2018, taking his career tally to 50.

Another major positive for Lloyd was the year of Shaun Higgins, who capped off a brilliant season with All-Australian selection.

“They have lacked a Rolls Royce midfielder, but that’s what they’ve got in Shaun Higgins,” Lloyd added.

“He just went to a new level, he was All-Australian, and I’d love to see him finish top five in the Brownlow, that’s how good he has been. ”
