There's just one day left until the free agency period begins and Luke Dahlhaus is set to make his way to Geelong, after Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge wished him luck at the club's best and fairest.

AFL.com.au's Trade Winds will provide a round-up of the latest action each morning until the end of the NAB AFL Trade Period on Wednesday, October 17.

Shock return on cards

Greater Western Sydney could replace Rory Lobb if he leaves for his native Western Australia with retired enforcer Shane Mumford, the Herald Sun reports.

A navicular fracture in his left foot forced the big man to call it quits at the end of 2017 with a year to run on his deal but that problem has reportedly been fixed.

"No formal discussions have been held with GWS but if Shane feels that he can play again, he'll consider it as an option," McConville said.

The 32-year-old was the Giants' ruck coach this season.

Fan favourite no certainty to stay

Collingwood defender Tyson Goldsack completed a miraculous recovery from a left knee reconstruction to help the Pies progress to the decider but he might not have done enough to earn a new deal, according to the Herald Sun.

However, Grand Final star Tom Langdon will stay after reportedly agreeing to terms on a new contract.

Goldsack's manager Anthony McConville said discussions on Friday might shed more light on the 31-year-old's situation.

"There is nothing in concrete at this time and I am not sure where that is going to land. I don't know where Collingwood sits there and there are a lot of moving parts," McConville said.

"I don't know the specifics other than I don't have anything positive from them at this point."

The Magpies are in the hunt for Gold Coast co-captain Steven May and will keep injury-prone swingman Darcy Moore.

Cat possibly left without a home

It's no certainty Geelong forward Daniel Menzel will be playing AFL next season, according to The Australian.

He is searching for a multi-year contract from another club – the Cats aren't willing to give him such a deal since he has endured four knee reconstructions – but the 27-year-old is reportedly "highly unlikely" to receive another deal from his current side.

St Kilda had shown interest but has since cooled off.

Kelly decision rests on Gaff

Whether West Coast will make a play for Geelong gun Tim Kelly depends on if wingman Andrew Gaff stays or leaves for North Melbourne, according to The Age.

The Cats would reportedly be open to trading Kelly if they could secure a high NAB AFL Draft selection in return.
