AFLW: Community Camp

AFLW: Community Camp (December 10, 2018) It was a huge weekend in Tasmania for our AFLW team during their Community Camp, with plenty of laughs and big moments for all involved.

Ahead of their first AFLW season, the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos travelled to Tasmania over the weekend for their first community and training camp.

With the Tasmanian and Victorian contingents of the squad training separately so far in the off-season, the camp enabled the girls to build on their relationships ahead of Round 1, and to complete full training sessions and match-simulation with the entire squad.

The first match-simulation was a valuable hit-out.

The camp also provided an opportunity for the team to engage with the Tasmanian community, who they will play in front of twice in 2019.

The team visited various schools, inspiring the next generation of stars, as well as charities such as Ronald McDonald house, which proved to be an eye opening experience for many of the players.

Fans also had the chance to meet the full playing list on Saturday at the University of Tasmania, who on the same day announced their partnership with the AFLW team.

University of Tasmania was the second Tasmanian partner to announce their support for the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos over the weekend, with Spirit of Tasmania extending their partnership with the club across to the AFLW team.
