Two of Tasmania’s top draft prospects will play for Melbourne University Women’s Football Club (MUWFC) in Saturday’s clash against the Western Bulldogs at Whitten Oval.

Abbey Green and Meg Sinclair are the beneficiaries of the agreement between the leagues, which sees the opportunity for Tasmanian to talent to gain exposure in the VFLW.

A standout in the Tasmanian State League Womens (TSLW), Green was named Launceston’s best-and-fairest in 2017, and has been selected in the TSLW team of the year in 2017 and 2018.

At 183 centimetres Green is a powerful ruck and has the ability to impact in the forward line.

Scoring 13 goals in as many games in 2018, Green was a force to be reckoned with.

Sinclair, in her third year of football, has already proven useful as a tall, athletic utility.

“We’re really excited to have Abbey and Meg play for us against the Bulldogs. Their form with Launceston to start the TSLW season has been impressive, and will set them up well for a strong game this weekend," Matt Bolitho, North ALFW football operations manager, told North Media.

“To continue to provide opportunities like this for players in Tasmania is important for our AFLW side’s development, as well as being a critical element of the pathway to AFLW for players in the state.”

Green and Sinclair will play alongside a host of North’s AFLW talent including Ash Riddell, Jas Grierson, Kate Gillespie-Jones, Jess Trend, and Taylor Mesiti.

Come down to Whitten Oval at 4.30pm, May 25, to see Melbourne Uni take on the Western Bulldogs.
