Dynamic forward Toby Greene could return after a week on the sidelines, as GWS prepares to take on North Melbourne.

Knee soreness kept Greene out of the Giants' loss to the Crows, but he's expected to be fit for the trip to Tasmania.

“We certainly do (think he plays) at this stage,” Giants General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell told the club's website.

“As always he has to get through training … he was a chance to play last weekend but we pulled him out late.

“At this stage if he gets through training this week then we think he lines up on Sunday against the Kangas.”

Greene has booted eight goals in 2019, with his best outing a 34-disposal haul against Carlton in Round 9.

Meanwhile, the Giants will be without a key player in their defensive half, with Nick Haynes ruled out due to an ankle injury.

“We think he’ll miss this week and probably next week,” Campbell added.

“He was very brave to play on like he did … scans revealed a grade one tear of an ankle ligament.”
