Frankston v North Melbourne
Sunday, June 16 - 2pm
Frankston Oval

Frankston Oval will play host to the round 11 VFL clash between Frankston and North Melbourne.

North will be hoping that a good result here can help kick off a surge up the ladder going into the second half of the season.

The Roos have had a real ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ two weeks. They defeated a previously unbeaten Richmond by 29 points in round 9, but lost to Williamstown by 53 points in round 10.

North is more than capable of winning this game, especially if it mirrors the performance of two weeks ago.

Frankston is currently bottom of the VFL ladder and hasn't won a game this season, but has given a few teams a scare.

The Dolphins will be desperate to get on the winners' list, and at home, will be no easy task.

The key players

Frankston

Nathan Freeman

A former AFL-listed player for Collingwood and St Kilda, Freeman was Frankston’s best player last week.

The midfielder has been posting good numbers all season, and if he's not paid attention to, could have a big impact on the outcome of the game.

Midfielder Kyron Hayden has done some important stopping roles this year for the Roos, but remains in the mix for a call-up to the AFL team after being named in the initial squad. His availability could be key.

North Melbourne

Joel Crocker

Crocker is beginning to become a dangerous player at VFL level.

Among North’s best players in each of the last three games, he'll be looking to continue his run of red-hot form.

Whether he plays forward or through the midfield, Crocker could play a key role in this weekend’s clash.

What the coach said

“We know what we’re capable of when we bring our best.” - North coach David Loader after the loss against Williamstown
