The attitude shown by Luke Davies-Uniacke after being dropped to the VFL should be used as an example for others, according to North Melbourne development coach Gavin Brown.

Davies-Uniacke has played 12 games for the senior side this year, but was omitted for the game against Essendon.

Despite the disappointment, Davies-Uniacke dominated st state level collecting 31 disposals and 11 tackles in horrid weather conditions.

“I’m sure he’d rather be playing senior footy, but he was very impressive and came back with a really good attitude,” Brown told North Media.

“The greatest form of leadership is actually doing things, and he rolled up his sleeves and had really good numbers.”

Davies-Uniacke has to deal with all of the pressures that come with being a high draft pick, but Brown believes patience is key for him.

“LDU has an enormous amount of talent and capability. It’s our responsibility to develop him so that he’s in the best possible position to keep getting better,” Brown said.

“This is only his second year. Sometimes you have to come back to the VFL for a few games to work on your game.

“You talk about leadership and maturity; when you come back and have his attitude, you’re displaying that in spades.”
