Recognising excellence

Far too often, good deeds go unnoticed.

That’s why North Melbourne and the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation joined forces to co-fund the Shinboner Award.

The award is designed to recognise clubs engaging with under-represented groups to increase grassroots participation and social cohesion.

The Point Cook Bulldogs Junior Football Club proved to be a cut above the rest this year, undertaking cultural awareness training and actioning steps to be more inclusive and safe.

The club introduced a new women’s team in the WRFL competition and hosted a number of events to increase female participation. In turn, it has elevated women’s voices into leadership and coaching positions.

The Bulldogs signed up to Victorian responsible Gambling Foundation’s Love the Game Program, and are committed to making sport a safe experience.

The prize, a signed North guernsey and $1000 towards participation initiatives.
