2020 fixture preview

With the 2020 fixture release just weeks away, we take a look at some of the numbers from our fixtures of recent years.

Round 1 

North Melbourne last played a Round 1 home game in 2017 when it went down to the West Coast Eagles. 

The Roos last played a Victorian team in Round 1 in 2014, when they hosted the Bombers.

Marvel Stadium 

Over the last three seasons, North Melbourne has played 35 games at Marvel Stadium, for 15 wins and 20 losses.

North’s most frequent opponents at Docklands over that period have been the Western Bulldogs, who they have faced five times.

In that period, Melbourne and GWS were the only two teams the Roos did not face on their home deck.

The Roos will play seven home games at Marvel Stadium in 2020, with an additional four replacement games for members to be scheduled in Melbourne.

Blundstone Arena

Since their first game In Hobart in 2012, the Roos have played 22 games at Blundstone Arena, for 16 wins.

North has faced nine different opponents in Hobart. 

GWS have been the most frequent, facing off on four occasions, with Sydney and St Kilda visiting Hobart three times.

There are eight teams yet to play North Melbourne at Blundstone Arena; Brisbane, Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, Western Bulldogs. 

The Roos will play four home games at Blundstone Arena once again in 2020, where they will be hoping to keep up their impressive win record of 72 per cent. 

Stadium Breakdown

Over the past three seasons, North has played at 12 different venues. 

Since 2017, the Roos have played in Perth (Optus Stadium x3, Subiaco x1) as many times as they have at the MCG.
