One of the game's most highly credentialled and respected analysts has added a new string to his bow, with Glenn Luff appointed as North Melbourne's new list manager.

The club canvassed other candidates and determined Luff was the best person for the job.

"I'm absolutely humbled by this opportunity and excited to get started," Luff said.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at North over the past 12 months and really feel like I can make a significant contribution as list manager going forward.”

Luff joined the club in October last year as head of analysis, and his portfolio included working closely with the list management and recruiting team, and assisting with opposition analysis.

"I've always been interested in list management and am rapt to have this opportunity," he said

Prior to joining North, Luff worked at Champion Data for 20 years, breaking down game data to identify trends, playing styles and team tendencies – areas the Kangaroos identified as key focuses with the AFL's rule changes.

Luff won’t have long to get comfortable in the new role with the National Draft one week away.

“I’ve already been doing a heap of work with Mark Finnigan and the recruiting team, so my title change won’t impact things too much in the early stages,” he explained.

“We worked together throughout the Trade Period, and we feel we are well prepared and in great shape for the Draft already.”
