Melbourne Uni (MUWFC) has climbed to fifth on the ladder after an 11-point victory over Williamstown on Saturday.

After a goalless first quarter, MUWFC hit the scoreboard with two majors in the second term, followed by three quick goals within the space of five minutes in the third quarter.

Tasmanian duo Daria Banister and Nicole Bresnehan booted a goal each, while Sophie Abbatangelo and Britt Gibson wore the Melbourne Uni outfit for the first time since a scheduled rest after the AFLW season.

Gibson was impressive on her return with 15 disposals and 4 inside 50s. The reliable defender also pushed forward for a goal in the second term. Despite inaccuracy in front of goals, Abbatangelo still impacted the game with 15 disposals, 4 marks and 4 tackles.

Jess Trend had another standout performance with 19 disposals and 6 marks, while Holly Whitford was strong in defence and through the midfield, with a game-high 10 tackles to go along with a goal in the third quarter.
