The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have improved their draft position after securing a third round pick on Tuesday.

The Kangaroos landed Fremantle’s pick 44 in exchange for midfielder Jess Trend.

“Securing an additional draft pick gives us another opportunity to bring in some fresh talent, from what we think is a strong draft pool,” North AFLW list and football performance manager, Rhys Harwood said.

“We think the agreement reached with Fremantle is a strong result for all parties, and it’s fantastic that Jess has been able to secure further opportunities for 2021 and beyond.

“We wish Jess all the best for the future and thank her for her contribution to the club.”

The Kangaroos currently have picks 13, 22, 44 (currently picks 8, 15 and 29 in Victoria, respectively) and St Kilda’s fourth round selection.
