Player Bio

Background: Pre-NMFC

Bailey Scott joined North Melbourne as a father-son selection with pick 49 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.

Scott found himself in a unique position - able to nominate one of three clubs, North Melbourne, Geelong as a father-son, or Gold Coast as an academy player.

Scott’s father, Robert, played 113 games for North and 132 games for Geelong.

But ultimately Scott elected to nominate North, the club which his father won a premiership with in 1996.

Scott received high praise last season for his elite endurance and work ethic.

With the ability to cover large grounds with ease, the 18-year-old tested well in the endurance running tests during last year’s NAB AFL Draft Combine.

Playing for the Allies along with fellow North draftee Tarryn Thomas, Scott averaged 23.8 disposals per game in the Under-18 Championships.

He was also a member of the Gold Coast Suns Academy, which gave him some valuable exposure to NEAFL football, in which he played against, and with, AFL-listed players.

For the Suns in the state league, Scott averaged 22.5 disposals and 6.4 contested possessions, playing predominately through the middle of the ground.
