A former top five draft pick, Jared Polec is an exciting wing player with one of the most lethal left feet in the entire AFL.

After 16 games at Brisbane and 90 at Port Adelaide, Polec made his way to Arden Street ahead of the 2019 season.

He finished seventh in the Syd Barker Medal after a successful first year at the club, where he played all 22 games across the campaign, before playing 13 games in his second season in royal blue and white.

North Melbourne debut: Round 1, 2019
Career Brownlow votes: 24

2021: 2021 was a difficult season for Polec, with enduring hamstring issues restricting him to just five games all year.

After playing the first three games of the campaign, he was unsighted at AFL level until Round 19’s victory over Carlton where he came on as medical substitute.

He was made to prove his fitness and earn his AFL recall, impressing with his experience and maturity at VFL level. Highlights included a classy and mature 28 disposal performance in the victory over Werribee, before registering 30 touches and a goal against an unbeaten Footscray side the following week.

As one of the most potentially damaging wing players in the AFL when fit and firing, Polec will be looking to maintain consistent match fitness across 2022, and could prove to become a crucial cog in the North midfield and forward lines should he return to his best form.
