Joining North’s coaching ranks for the 2021 season, Anthony Rocca will work as a development coach for the club’s key-position players.

Kicking 415 goals in 242 games, Rocca quickly gained cult hero status across the league for his outrageously long kicking and contest marking ability, with his torpedo’s often clearing 70 metres.

With almost a decade of coaching experience under his belt, Rocca has coached across all lines with a primary focus on the development of young talent.

He cut his teeth as a coach in the VFL, being appointed Collingwood’s forward line assistant in 2010 before transitioning into the AFL as a defensive development coaching in 2012.

From 2013-2017, Rocca served as a forward-line development coach before transitioning to ruck coaching duties in 2018, ending a 22-year association with the club as both a player and coach.

He arrived at Arden Street as a part time ruck coach ahead of the 2021 season, and will coach full-time as a ruck/midfield coach in 2022.
