Playing 254 games with Collingwood, Gavin Brown’s storied playing career includes two All-Australian nods, three club best and fairest medals, a place in the Magpies team of the century and a 1990 Premiership medal.

Named as Collingwood’s captain in 1994, Brown held the position until the emergence of leadership skills in a young Nathan Buckley, and retired from playing in 2000.

Brown continued his Collingwood career as a coach, staying at the club for a further decade, until he joined Carlton as an assistant under Brett Ratten.

Having been a member of North Melbourne’s coaching staff since 2014, Brown has retained his position as Head of Development heading into 2022.
