Step 1: Apply online

Simply apply online for an advertised position through the APPLY link. Be sure to include a current resume and a cover letter.

Step 2: Application screening

Once we’ve received your online application, our team will review it in line with the selection criteria. If we think you’d make a successful addition to our team and we have a suitable position available, we’ll contact you.

Step 3: Telephone screening

When you meet our selection criteria, the next step is a telephone screening. This is a simple way for us to get to know you better. We’ll ask you to explain your motivation for applying and why you’d like to work for the North Melbourne Kangaroos/The Huddle.

Step 4: Interview confirmation

At the end of the telephone screening, we’ll set up an interview date/time. Following this you will receive a confirmation email along with a full position description for the role and with whom you will be interviewing.

Step 5: Attend your interview(s)

Your interview may be face-to-face or online with a relevant hiring manager and a member of the People & Culture team. This may lead to further interviews, and you will be notified of the time and location of your interview(s) as we progress.

If you are unsuccessful through this interview process, you will be called and informed. You are welcome to ask for feedback during this phone call.

Step 6: Reference checks are conducted

If your interview is successful, we’ll conduct reference checks with your most recent employers. We’ll always ask your permission before we contact any referee you’ve given us.

Step 7: Your job offer

Finally, if after reference checking your application is successful, we’ll make you a verbal and written offer of employment and send then your contract and paperwork via our online HR system.

Step 8: Background checks

We also conduct background checks for all positions. This will include: National Police check, Working with Children, and Health Declaration, but may also include: Employment History, Academic Qualification, Entitlement to Work, and a Global Media check.

You’re now on your way to being part of the Shinboner family with the North Melbourne Kangaroos!
