One of the best things about AFLW pre-season is the ability to look forward. To look forward to the draft, to look forward to practice games, and look forward to an exciting season full of brilliant prospects and an evolving game.

After the signings of Irish duo Vikki Wall and Erika O’Shea, rookie Zoe Savarirayan and drafting Taylah Gatt, Sophia McCarthy, Charli Granville, Grace Matser and Cassidy Mailer, the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos completed their list, but one small bit of housekeeping remains ahead of the new season.

With the season just around the corner, the club's playing list and number allocation has been finalised. While each existing player on the list has retained their existing number, who knows whose number you might have on your back approaching this campaign.

Exciting small forward Charli Granville has taken on the number two, meaning the guernsey will stay inside the Kangaroos’ forward 50 after previous guardian Daria Bannister moved to expansion club Essendon.

Rookie signing Zoe Savarirayan has taken on the number four, previously worn by exciting yet injury-hit small forward Elisha King.

The number eight will be seen flying up and down the wing, with the top draftee of North’s class in Taylah Gatt electing to take the number after Aileen Gilroy left for the Hawks.

Strong utility player Cassidy Mailer will wear the number 10 after Kaitlyn Ashmore’s departure to Hawthorn.

CONFIRMED Fixture locked in for AFLW season seven

Irish duo Vikki Wall and Erika O’Shea will don the numbers 13 and 14 respectively. It remains to be seen where their best positions will lie but they’re certain to be excitement machines. Thirteen was previously worn by Tara Slender, while 14 was vacant.

High-marking key forward prospect Sophia McCarthy will represent the number 21 with great pride, taking over from Alexia Hamilton.

Finally, exciting ruck Grace Matser has taken on the previously unclaimed number 29 which has of course been made famous by Brent Harvey in the men’s program.

Numbers 11 (Daisy Bateman), 18 (Britt Gibson) and 27 (Jess Duffin) have all remained vacant for season seven.
