North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos duo Eliza Shannon and Ruby Tripodi have signed one-year contract extensions to remain at the club until at least the end of 2024.

Shannon arrived at Arden Street during March's AFLW Sign and Trade Period after making a promising start to her career at Hawthorn last season.

The 24-year-old has slotted in well to the Kangaroos' backline in 2023, featuring in every game so far this season.

Tripodi was taken with pick No.23 in the 2023 AFLW Supplementary Draft following three seasons and back-to-back best and fairest wins at Williamstown in the VFLW.

The 22-year-old has played eight games in her debut campaign, rotating through the midfield and forward line.

"We are excited to have Eliza and Ruby sign on for another season with the Kangaroos," North Melbourne AFLW list manager Flynn Loft said.

"Eliza has been a great addition to our defence this season with her running ability, while Ruby has impressed with her pressure in our forward half.

"They both have a professional attitude and have worked really hard since joining our program earlier this year. We look forward to watching them continue their development at the club over the next 12 months."
