Hard-nosed North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroo Lulu Pullar has been rewarded for her outstanding season with a nomination for Most Courageous Player at the AFLW Players' Awards, to be announced on Tuesday night.
Pullar's teammates made her the Kangaroos' nominee after she helped bring a new intensity to Arden St this year.
The 25-year-old defender has played 11 games for the Roos since relocating from Brisbane ahead of this season, only missing the Round 10 match against the Western Bulldogs with a cut head.
She cut a distinctive figure in the qualifying final against Melbourne, sporting heavy bandages, and starred again in Sunday's thrilling preliminary final win over Adelaide.
Young midfielder Ruby Tripodi is the Kangaroos' nomination for the Best First Year Player Award.
Tripodi, 22, has played nine games in her maiden AFLW season so far, averaging 6.7 disposals. She has also contributed to the Roos' high-pressure game by averaging 2.7 tackles.
Skipper Emma Kearney is in the running for the Best Captain Award, having led the Roos to their first ever AFLW grand final.
Sunday's showdown with Brisbane will be Kearney's second experience on the AFLW's biggest stage, having won the 2018 premiership with the Western Bulldogs.
Jas Garner is among the favourites to take out the AFLW Players' MVP after a superb season that has already delivered Garner's third AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year award.
It would be Garner's second MVP, adding to the award she won in 2020.
Retired Adelaide champion Erin Phillips is the only previous two-time MVP winner, having claimed the award in 2017 and 2019.
