North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos defender Jasmine Ferguson has undergone surgery to repair a fractured right hand.
Ferguson sustained the injury while playing in a local netball game on Saturday afternoon.
"Jas is an important member and leader of our playing group, so we were disappointed to learn that she had sustained an injury to her hand on the eve of the pre-season last weekend," North Melbourne head of women’s football Nathan Hrovat said.
"Her recovery time is expected to be three weeks. This will obviously interrupt her start to the pre-season, but it is not expected to impact her availability for the upcoming season."
The Kangaroos return for pre-season on Tuesday, June 4
