Bowey joined the Roos as an injury replacement player following Grace Campbell’s ACL tear prior to Season 7. She was on the Roos’ radar for some time and was close to joining the list through the 2022 draft period.

Bowey joined from Collingwood’s VFL team where she had a really consistent stretch, with her running patterns on the wing, workrate and ability to cover the ground impressing watchers. She connects well across the field, with her ability to break the lines and take the game forward being features of her game.

Bowey comes from a strong footballing family, with brother Jake currently at Melbourne, and her father Brett played 85 games for St Kilda.

North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos debut: Round 10, 2022 S7

Season 7: After biding her time, Bowey was named in the starting team for the first time in her career for the Round 10 bout with Richmond, replacing injured skipper Emma Kearney in defence.

Bowey made a composed debut, collecting three disposals and three marks (all intercepts) in her patrolling role across half-back and was subsequently rewarded and trusted with a spot in the team for the remainder of the season – those being North Melbourne's three finals.

With a handful of games under her belt, Bowey can now strive towards potentially becoming North Melbourne's breakout player in Season 8.
