Hailing from Geelong, defender Eliza Shannon spent her debut season in brown and gold, playing six games for the Hawks in their inaugural campaign of 2022 Season 7.

Before getting picked up Hawthorn, Shannon represented Vic Country twice and made both the U16 and U18 All Australian teams in the same year before joining the AFLW Academy in 2018.

The 24-year-old was North Melbourne’s second signing of the 2023 AFLW Sign and Trade Period and has quickly become an important player at Arden Street.

2023: Shannon seamlessly slotted into North Melbourne's backline rotation, playing all 13 games in her first season at the club.

The no.11 averaged 4.1 intercept possessions per game and tallied a career-high 15 touches against the Power in Round 7.
