Commitment is all a player can ask of his team-mates, and if anyone illustrated that trait on Sunday it was Jamie Macmillan.

The youngster fractured his fibula during the third quarter against the Power, but it was his actions immediately after that showed amazing selflessness.

Speaking on Fox Footy’s AFL 360, Nathan Grima described the moment.

“I actually yelled out to Jamie to ‘get up’, I didn’t realise how bad he was,” Grima said.

“He actually limped into the next stoppage, set up and was telling the boys where to stand.

“It’s credit to him. Most players would have probably put their head down and just called for the trainer. He actually stood out there.”

After a clearly impressed Mark Robinson processed Macmillan’s courage, ‘So he went over to the next contest with a broken bone in his leg?’, Grima went into further detail.

“He came off and apparently he was actually pretty keen to get back on,” he added.

“They (medical staff) said to him that he might have fractured his leg. And then he asked if he could try and run!”

“He’s well respected, he’s a great kid and he’s starting to play some really consistent footy.”

Macmillan will miss between 4-6 weeks of football, with any likely return to come after North Melbourne’s bye, which falls in Round 8.
