GWS defenders Curtly Hampton and Matt Buntine are chances to return this weekend against North Melbourne.

Hampton injured his shoulder against Essendon in Round 12 and was forced to undergo surgery. The athletic Giant will undergo a fitness test this week in order to prove he's ready to go.

Buntine injured his calf against the Dockers a fortnight ago and will also need to get through training, while Josh Hunt injured his hip against Richmond and is in a similar boat.

The Giants are already without Jeremy Cameron (ankle), Lachie Whitfield (shoulder/foot), Tim Mohr (knee), Stephen Coniglio (thumb) and Tom Scully (knee) for the remainder of the season.
