It is the second consecutive season Garner has taken out the club’s top honour and the fourth time overall.

The 29-year-old enjoyed her best individual campaign yet, averaging 28 disposals, seven tackles and a goal per game from her 13 appearances. She ranked first in the AFLW for metres gained and inside 50s, second for contested possessions, and third for clearances.

One of the competition’s most decorated players, Garner also claimed the fan-voted Mazda Next Level Performer award to further add to the accolades she has received over the past month, which include her third AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award, second AFL Players’ Association MVP award and sixth All-Australian blazer.

Runner-up Riddell was a prolific member of the Kangaroos’ engine room alongside Garner in 2023.

The ball magnet led the competition for disposals, collecting 30-plus on eight occasions. She ranked second for ground ball gets and placed equal-second in the league’s best and fairest.

Kearney finished third after captaining the side to its first-ever Grand Final appearance.

The veteran Roo, who last week extended her streak as the only player to receive All-Australian honours in every AFLW season, averaged 20 disposals per game off half-back, while ranking fourth in the competition for intercept possessions and sixth for rebound 50s.

Jenna Bruton was voted Shinboner of the Year by her teammates for the second straight season for her embodiment of the club's values: real, bold, belonging and never beaten.

Kim Rennie was awarded Best Clubwoman in recognition of her team-first approach both on and off the field.

Taylah Gatt was named the club’s Best Young Player after featuring in all 13 games and providing plenty of outside run for the Kangaroos in her second season.

Voting system
