North Melbourne Football Club has welcomed online electricity retailer Powershop as the club’s official membership partner in 2015.

This is the first time ever Powershop has partnered with a sporting team, having launched in Victoria just over a year ago.

As part of the new partnership, Powershop will make a contribution to the club for every member or fan who switches their home or business power to Powershop.

Carl Dilena, North Melbourne CEO and Managing Director, said he was thrilled to welcome Powershop to the Kangaroos family.

“This is an exciting new partnership that both the club and its fans will benefit from,” Mr Dilena said.

Ben Burge, Powershop CEO said that they had chosen to partner with North Melbourne as the club embodies Powershop’s energetic and competitive nature.

“We’re thrilled to be powering North this year while giving supporters a chance to get in control of their energy usage,” Mr Burge said.

“Through our online tools, Powershop allows customers to find out how much electricity they’re using, including why, where and how much it’s costing.

“It means people can manage their power consumption – and ultimately, their bill – all from the palm of their hand.”

Powershop was independently assessed as having the lowest overall power prices in Victoria* and has been ranked by Greenpeace as the greenest energy company in the country**.

“Switching to Powershop takes less than five minutes, there is no interruption to power and you don’t even need to talk to your old retailer,” Mr Burge said.
