Just four points separated North and Richmond at the final change on Sunday, but for Brent Harvey the Roos' attitude meant the result was never in doubt.

Speaking after the game, Harvey said his teammates stood tall when it counted in the final term.

“It’s a four quarter game and that’s the good thing about it, because we knew what Richmond was going to serve up … they finished fifth on the ladder for a reason,” he told NMFC.com.au.

“But today, at three-quarter-time you see the look of the determination in the boys’ eyes and you get a feeling of belief, and that’s what we’ve got right now.”

The Roos booted four goals to two in the last quarter to a seal a memorable 17-point victory, in front of a massive crowd of over 90,000 people.

“I was lucky enough to play in the ’99 premiership but it was bloody loud out there today,” Harvey said.

“I know Richmond probably had a few more supporters, but our supporters are amazing. Well done guys, because they just turn out and they’re loud … it gets you up and about.”

Harvey played arguably his best game of the season, racking up 31 disposals and kicking two goals.

“It’s always good to get your hands on the ball and to kick a couple of goals to top it off is pleasing,” he said.

“All you want to do is contribute on days like this and I felt like I did that today and played my role.”

At 37 years of age, Harvey has hit a rich vein of form in the back half of the season, kicking almost two goals a game over the past eight rounds.

Harvey will be vital to North’s chances when it travels to Sydney next Saturday night to take on the Swans.
