Ben Brown has called on the North players to put their “heart and soul on the line for the club” in Saturday night’s clash against the Eagles.

The key-forward will play in his sixth final from just 33 career games at Domain Stadium, and is desperate to make most the most of the chance.

“From talking to other guys, it doesn’t come around every day (a preliminary final), so it’s important that I and we take that opportunity and we absolutely do our best to get to a Grand Final berth,” Brown told NMFC.com.au.

Brown said the pain of falling at the final hurdle in last year’s preliminary final is still fresh in the mind of the players. But ultimately that experience could hold North in good stead to reverse its fortunes.

“That’s got to drive us … especially the older guys, we’ve talked to them about how much it means to make a finals series, let alone to try and make a Grand Final.

“A lot of guys at North haven’t had that experience and want a premiership.

“It’s up to the young guys as much as it is to them (the older players) to really put your heart and soul on the line for the club and do everything you can to win us a premiership.

“Just talking to the guys it’s obvious how much it means … we just want to get out there and win.”

On Friday, over 1,000 supporters were at Arden Street for the club’s open training session, before the players flew to Perth in the early afternoon.

A sell-out crowd will be in attendance for the do-or-die clash on Saturday night.
