North Melbourne’s leadership group has suspended Kayne Turner for four weeks, following his drink driving charge on Sunday morning.

Senior figures at the club decided the 20-year old would be ineligible for AFL selection for a month, effective once he has completed his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury.

With Turner currently listed at three weeks on the injury list, and taking into account the club’s bye, he’s unlikely to be available before Round 17.

He will be permitted to play in the VFL during this time.

Kayne will also be required to complete a road safety course and education program as part of his punishment.
