A record-breaking week will culminate on Saturday night at Etihad Stadium, and North has its first opportunity to reach the 12-win milestone it circled at the start of the season.

In its way is a rampant St Kilda outfit, having won seven of its last nine matches.

Forwards

The availability of Jarrad Waite will depend on how he completes and pulls up from Wednesday’s main training session.

If he fails to declare himself available, North will likely go with the same three talls which served the side so well in the victory against Collingwood.

Corey Wagner responded well to the omission from the AFL side, laying seven tackles and amassing 14 disposals for Werribee in his small-forward role.

Midfielders

Declan Mountford continued his good VFL form with another tagging role on North Ballarat’s Nick Rippon, a Liston Medal winner.

After being named an emergency for last week’s AFL outfit, the 19-year-old will likely be in selection consideration again.

Defenders

Ed Vickers-Willis was a late withdrawal from the VFL last Saturday, and will likely need to complete a full game for Werribee before coming into the frame for a North debut.

Joel Tippett has flown largely under the radar the last few weeks, but has quietly put together some promising form; if he’s called upon to help combat the Saints’ talls, he’ll be ready to go.
