Daniel Wells and Jack Ziebell are locked in a battle for top honours from the North fans, with voting going down to the wire in the Mazda Spirit Awards.

At the completion of the home and away season, only six votes separated the pair, with Wells on 233 and Ziebell 227.

Brent Harvey has been named as the Roos’ best in the past two games, and sits third on the leaderboard, still in striking distance of the lead with 198 votes.

Robbie Tarrant (193 votes) and Todd Goldstein (173) sit fourth and fifth respectively.

With voting continuing into the finals, the race for top spot is still open.

How it works

- Voting opens after every North home game and is available until 5pm on the Tuesday following.
- Fans vote for the Roos’ top three players from the game.
- Votes are added up at the conclusion of the voting period, with a maximum of 100 points per game to be awarded to the entire team. Each player is given a percentage of the votes, which is added to their season tally.
- The player with the most votes at the conclusion of the season is the winner of the Mazda Spirit Awards
