St Kilda will be without Paddy McCartin on Friday night after the young forward was ruled out with a knee injury.

“He is likely to have a scan to see what he might have done,” Saints' football boss Jamie Cox said.

“We’re hopeful it’s only a minor issue and he’ll only miss a very short amount of football.”

McCartin has only managed five senior games this season.

The Saints are set to regain veteran Nick Riewoldt for the clash at Etihad Stadium while Jake Carlisle is uncertain. Young defender Hugh Goddard is managing a foot issue and Nathan Wright is out after injuring his shoulder last week.
