North Melbourne's two bids at Monday morning's academy bidding meeting have been matched by Greater Western Sydney and the Brisbane Lions.

Onballer Jack Steele attracted the Kangaroos' first pick (currently 15), but the Giants parted with their second round pick for the Canberra-based player.

Steele won All-Australian honours and was NSW/ACT's MVP in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships.

North also bid its second round pick (34) on Harris Andrews, with the Lions matching its offer.

A tall defender/ruckman, Andrews hails from Queensland and boasts the ability to push forward and provide presence in the contest.
