John Worsfold has hinted Essendon could take two traditional ruckmen into Saturday’s clash against North.

The Bombers’ coach spoke highly of former Demon Mark Jamar on Tuesday.

“He’s been building (in the VFL) . Obviously it’s been about match fitness for him and he’s really showing that,” Worsfold said.

“There are opportunities for us to really explore and give guys the opportunity to see what they can bring.”

Asked whether Jamar was a chance to play, Worsfold replied ‘yeh, he is’.

Forward and part-time ruckman Shaun McKernan played just his second game of the season last week, alongside Matthew Leuenberger, but Essendon could opt for extra ammunition against Todd Goldstein by playing two renowned rucks.

The Bombers may also recall youngsters Darcy Parish and Kyle Langford, both rested last week.

“Strong consideration for them both,” Worsfold said of the pair’s chances of selection.

“We’ll work through selection after training, but they’re both available and fresh, so that’s great.”

Essendon showed promising signs against Sydney, particularly in the first half, despite an 81-point loss.

“Every week is new learnings for us and we’re seeing some exciting things,” Worsfold said.

“It’s tough when you’re not winning and it’s disappointing (losing games), but we are just learning little things about the group the whole time.”

The Bombers are in 17th place with one win, while North is unbeaten and looking to win its eighth win in a row to start the season for the first time since 1978.
