Gary Ablett is expected to line up against North on Saturday afternoon after completing the main training on Thursday.

The star midfielder missed last week’s loss to St Kilda in Melbourne due to a calf injury, but looks on track to play his 300th career game this weekend.

At 33, Ablett is still the Suns’ most important player and will be a big inclusion for the side that sits just two games out of the top eight, in 14th position.

“Gary will be selected in the senior team this weekend with the expectation he'll play," Suns' football manager Marcus Ashcroft said.

The Suns will also name Pearce Hanley with a final fitness test on his injured hamstring to come.

"We're still hopeful and optimistic he'll be able to play," Ashcroft said.
