North will go into its historic clash against Richmond celebrating another membership milestone.

The Roos signed up their 7,000th Tasmanian member this week, ahead of the first ever Friday night game at Blundstone Arena.

“When North first started playing AFL games in Hobart, we had 1200 signed-up members across Tasmania,” Tassie fan Michael Harvey told The Mercury.

“To now have 7000 … that’s phenomenal growth.”

A sell-out looms against the Tigers, with just 800 general admission tickets remaining.

The significance of the game not lost on defender Michael Firrito.

“It will be very special to play Tasmania’s first night game in Hobart,” Firrito said.

“It’s a great place … Blundstone has an unbelievable atmosphere and it’s a state-of-the-art stadium with great facilities for the players and a great deck as well.

“We love coming down there.”

The club now has more than 43,500 members, having surpassed its all-time membership record at the end of April.
