Relentless rain couldn’t deter more than 600 of North Melbourne’s youngest and most enthusiastic supporters from flocking to Arden Street on Wednesday to meet their hero Brent Harvey at his annual Harvey’s Heroes Clinic.

The unpredictable Melbourne weather forced the players and children indoors for the two-hour clinic but that couldn’t put a dampener on the 365-game veteran’s biggest fans having the time of their lives.

“These kids get an opportunity to come and meet 46 of the boys. We look forward to it every year,” Harvey said.

“For me that’s what I played footy for. When I was young going to watch my heroes play footy; it was a huge buzz when you see them training and things like that.”

North Melbourne’s full playing list was in attendance to take the young Roos, aged four to fourteen years, through a variety of different activities including handballing, kicking and even some chaotic games of Octopus.

The Q&A sessions were hugely popular as players such as Daniel Wells, Todd Goldstein, Scott Thompson and Lachie Hansen answered some of the tough questions presented by the junior members and even a few parents.

Harvey’s own children Cooper, Lacie and Hudson also attended their dad’s clinic along with the sons of some other famous Shinboners such as Jackson Archer, Darcy Sholl, Mitchell Larkin and Joel Crocker.
