Another game and another entry into the record books for Brent Harvey. This time, he’ll move up another spot on the list of most games played in VFL/AFL history, drawing equal with Carlton great Craig Bradley on 375.

That means he’ll be tied for sixth.

With confirmation North Melbourne is already in talks with the veteran’s management regarding another contract for next year, the rare 400 game milestone becomes more than likely.

If he plays the remaining games this season, not including finals, the 36-year-old will hit 384 games and would need just 16 more in 2015 to achieve 400. Only two others have surpassed that mark; Michael Tuck with 426 and Kevin Bartlett with 403.

Importantly, North coach Brad Scott believes he will make it.

"If he plays long enough he'll get there and there's no reason to say he wouldn't keep playing next year and beyond – that sounds unbelievable but you just look at his output and the way he trains," Scott said earlier this season.

"I think the sub rule's really going to help, I think he'd be a pretty devastating little sub if he came on half way through the third quarter.”

Age is also on Harvey’s side with Robert Harvey (37), Michael Tuck (38) and Craig Bradley (38) playing until they were well into their late 30s when they decided to pull the pin.

Consider this; If Harvey can go as long as Dustin Fletcher, who is currently 39, then Tuck’s record will be well and truly under threat. That would give him three more seasons and potentially a tally of around 450 games, not including any finals.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves…or should we?
