When Jack Ziebell went down clutching his left leg after a heavy collision with Carlton’s Zach Tuohy on Friday night, many feared the worst.

On Monday, the vice-captain was given the ‘all clear’.

“He copped a really heavy kick to the shin where he previously fractured his leg a few years ago. Once the initial bit of pain had settled we were able to test it pretty effectively and we were confident with how he presented," Director of Medical Services Steve Saunders said.

“He’s all okay but we were a little worried for a couple of minutes because he was in a fair bit of pain.

“Everyone’s a bit sensitised to it...us, Jack and the crowd because I think everyone knows his history, having broken two legs in pretty much the same spot on both sides, I think everyone thought the worst initially but it all panned out okay.”

Meanwhile Daniel Currie made it through his first VFL game unscathed after a heel injury that kept sidelined for three weeks.

“We’ll still modify his training load and his footwear a little bit for another three or four weeks I think but he’ll be right to continue main skills and play this week.

“We just have to pad his heel a little bit to keep the bruised fat pad protected.”

Will Sierakowski went off in the last quarter of Werribee’s match but Saunders is confident he’ll also be fit to play.

“Will just had a bit of tightness in his leg but he’s doing okay,” Saunders said.

After their respective injury troubles, Scott McMahon and Aaron Mullett both pulled up well following Friday night’s game.
