North Melbourne's Scott Thompson has capped off an outstanding season with selection in the All-Australian team.

The 27-year-old was named at full-back among the league's best 22 for 2013, alongside Corey Enright and Michael Johnson.

Thompson played 19 games for the year, averaging 20 disposals and 6 marks. He played a starring role against the likes of Lance Franklin, Jonathan Brown and Jack Riewoldt as North's number one defender.

Despite missing the last three matches due to a bruised lung, Thompson is right in the mix to win his first Syd Barker Medal on October 7.
